Giant Mushrooms

Kara Walker of Poppy Hollow Productions is an incredibly talented sculptress who specializes in sculpting foam. She carved these fantastically massive mushrooms out of large foam blocks and made a time lapse video tutorial showing the entire process.
To start out, she cut out the rough shapes with the 4-Foot and 2-Foot Bow Cutters as well as the Industrial Scroll Table.
She did some detail work with the Industrial Hot Knife, then cut her pieces in half on the Scroll Table so she could route a hole in the center for a PVC pipe with the Hot Knife Sled Guide.
Once the pieces were cut out and sanded, she glued everything together with FoamFast Adhesive. Then she detailed the bottom parts of the mushroom caps with the Industrial Hot Knife. She used a 2-part apoxie clay to add details like bumps on top of the cap.
To finish them off, she coated them with Styroplast and painted them with a series of spray paints and air brush paints.
