Prayer Sculpture

By Marco Hernandez

Marco Hernandez is a Pastor and artist for Christ Church in Rockaway, New Jersey. He created this beautiful Prayer Sculpture for an annual event called Prayer Fest that his church holds every July. He wanted to create a prayer sculpture that the attendees of the event could interact with. He used EPS foam, Hot Wire Foam Factory Tools, and All Purpose Foam Coat. The sculpture measures approximately 8-Feet tall.

He started by drawing out hands on the foam block and making rough cuts with our 4-Foot Compound Bow Cutter.

He then refined the sculpture using our hand tools.

Next, he coated the sculpture with All Purpose Foam Coat and painted it with bronze paint. Once that dried, he added metallic gold latex paint to give it an aged bronze look.

At Prayer Fest, Attendees were able to put flags into the statue from all over the world.
