St. Coletta Assisi Hallway Exhibit

Noah Smith and St. Coletta of Wisconsin

Noah Smith worked with several members of the St. Coletta team to brainstorm and build this hallway display which represents the Assisi Pilgrim Experience.

“This hallway is to share the “Assisi Pilgrim Experience,” which is a pilgrimage St. Coletta along with the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi offers to staff to travel to Assisi, Italy and see where our Franciscan roots were born. This is where Saint Francis, Saint Clare, and Saint Coletta were born and lived their lives. Each piece of this hallway resembles what you will see if you go on the pilgrimage and the layout of the hall sort of resembles the layout of Assisi as well.”

Mentions:
-Ted Behncke (President)
-Mario Dealca (Senior Director of Franciscan Values and Mission)
-Sister Grace Schauf (Administrative Assistant HR & also the only working sister at St. Coletta)
-Robin Baker (Executive Vice President)
-Becky Weber (Executive Assistant)

“I brought the vision to life by designing the wallpaper, acrylics, and creating the hand-crafted foam pieces. This includes the arch at the New Gate, the rose window at Saint Clare, the baptismal font at San Rufino (which is shell shaped with an acrylic pour for the water), the rocks around the cave entrance at La Verna, and the corner cave pieces inside the cave.”

“The Industrial Hot Knife worked wonderfully.  The pieces were covered in Exterior Foam Coat and the rocks and cave pieces were stained and sealed with StainFast which is an amazing product.”

“I’ve learned a lot about Assisi throughout this project and I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining the pilgrimage this coming February to see everything in the hallway – In real life Assisi, Italy.”
