When Mindy of LessThanThree Designs and Scooby of LAMP Entertainment get together, they make MAGIC.

Both are seasoned artists and highly experienced in the Event Planning and Managing field in the Midwest. They’ve collaborated on 11 projects (mainly stage designs) and worked countless events.

Their most recent project was to create a Disco Ball DJ Booth as a “centerpiece??? matching the Disco Tech theme for an all-weekend long event in the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri.

They chose to work with EPS foam for the base to ensure safe and easy transportation of the structure as well as follow the mirrored tile technique for the tiles.

Three large sections make up the entire structure. First, foam cubes were glued together to make one large piece, then cut with the Hot Wire Foam Factory 4-Foot Bow Cutter, and then sanded. Next the foam was prepped with Hot Wire Foam Factory All Purpose Foam Coat then sanded again. 1inch by 1inch glass tiles were glued one by one using Hot Wire Foam Factory StyroGoo glue – 5,500 tiles all by hand… some specially custom fit for angles and other places on the structure.

All in all, the project took 155 man hours and was completed in only 2 weeks with help from their buddy Robb and a few others.

The structure is available for rent and this magic-making team is looking to fulfill orders for new projects!
