Pear Blossom Parade Float

Medford, Oregon holds a parade every year as part of their Pear Blossom Festival, which has now become the largest parade in Southern Oregon. As part of the 69th annual festival, the team at Visual FX Productions built this beautiful float which pays homage to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The float was built for the Umpqua Tribe who were celebrating 40 years of tribal recognition. Members of the Umpqua Tribe helped in deciding which animals to incorporate into the design. They used a combination of the 4-Foot Bow, 2-Foot Bow, and Industrial Hot Knife to carve out the designs into large foam blocks and sheets.

“Everything was carved using Hot Wire Foam Factory tools, which helped us to achieve something that we are very proud of.”

The float has space for the Tribe’s drummers to sit and play their drums while the parade goes on.

The finished float sits on a 24-foot trailer. Another outstanding project from the VFX Team!
