Anna is an abstract sculptor and painter who specializes in creating unique shapes, many of which can be described as Lovecratian. She carved this very intricate and imposing monolith featuring the old one himself, Cthulhu, out of pink XPS foam.
“A Cthulhu prop for this year’s Summer reading escape room. I was asked to make a Cthulhu for the room and given only one month to do it, so I decided to make a “monolith” bearing the image of the Old One instead.”
“For this project, I am using XPS pink board and Hot Wire Tools procured from Hot Wire Foam Factory! I highly recommend their Freehand Router tool… the thing is a beast!”
Once she carved all the details, she painted the monolith with metallic paint then topped it off with some UV paint to give it an otherworldly glow.
Below are some images of the monolith in its escape room setting. “The artist who built the coral assemblages is the talented and hard working @jwood1262“
