Vampire Crypt Haunt Set

Carlos Rivas of Hackney Haunts

Here’s a sneak peak at Carlos’ upcoming vampire-themed attraction for Hackney Haunts. Shown in this page is the foreboding entrance where the queline waits, setting the tone for what lies ahead.

This was Carlos’ first time working with white beaded foam and his second time working with foam all together (using pink insulation foam for his haunt last year). “I’ve always wanted to make realistic sets to create an atmosphere like no other. I knew with foam I could get stone like features. The Pro 6-Inch Hot Knife and Freehand Router kit was great!”

He started by constructing a wooden frame, building the general shape of the walls and alcoves.

Next, he attached foam panels to the frame and starting carving out the stone and brick textures.

As he shaped the walls, he added extra details like broken segments and words and symbols carved into the walls.

Once the walls were shaped, he hard coated them, painted them, and lit the scene with pin lights. The attraction will be open for visitors starting on October 1st, 2021. Learn more at: https://hackneyhaunts.com/
