Devilish Circus Tent Entryway

For their circus sideshow haunt display, Jenny and the Netherwood Haunt team constructed this imposing devil-themed entryway using EPS foam. The design itself is a reference to the entrance for the old Cabaret de L’Enfer.

“we wanted to share our process for creating last year’s “Devil” entryway for our Circus tent. We began by using a projector to display our guide onto the foam – the entrance from the Cabaret de L’Enfer (1892-1950). Using the projected image, we then sketched the outline of the facial features onto our foam board.”

“After carving the eyes, nose and other facial features using Hot Wire Foam Factory tools and some rasps, we then coated the entire entryway to weatherproof it. Then all we had to do was add the final coats of paint to bring it to life! This was our first foray into 3-D foam carving, and we are excited to try it again soon!”
