Gingerbread Hotel
By Lauren Kitchens
Lauren Kitchens of Fancy Cakes by Lauren made this gingerbread house, which was commissioned by The Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas Texas. She used Styrofoam and plywood for the structure/roof of the build.
Everything is edible, including the windows.
“We used 200 pounds of gingerbread, 25 pounds of fondant, 20 pounds of royal icing, 15 pounds of sprinkles, 8 pounds of edible snow, 160 feet of LED lights, and took 360 hours to create.”
The structure built for the gingerbread house was cut from plywood and styrofoam.
“The entire roof structure is styrofoam and we used the 8-inch Hot Knife to sculpt the styrofoam into the shape we needed.”
