Creating a Bridge For Your Village
Village D-Lights Article by Leigh Gieringer
Another of Leigh Gieringer’s recent articles in Village D-Lights magazine details the process for making a bridge out of foam in your village display.
“Including a Bridge Within a Village Can be a Dynamic Focal Point! The Viewer’s Eye is Automatically Drawn to that Section of the Vignette or Display.”
-Leigh Gieringer
In the article, Leigh talks about the various features of a bridge and making your own as the primary feature of a display.
She then details the process of gathering assets as reference and the methods for carving a bridge out of foam. The bridge she made combines attributes of a few different bridges.
Lastly, she talks about finishing touches and details. She also mentions that a well made vignette can be merged with other vignettes, especially if you design them with this feature in mind. The display in the back of the picture below is from Leigh’s previous Spring display article. Displays can be very versatile. If you change out the buildings, accessories, and landscape materials, you can give the display base a completely different feel.
